James Lamkin

       James is seventeen years old and a senior at Conemaugh Township. He is a part of the build, programming, and drive teams. James is in his school’s marching band, concert band, and jazz band playing the saxophone. He prefers waffles over pancakes, and his favorite Disney movie is Peter Pan. James’s dream job is to be a software developer. A fun fact about James is that he is “sadly good with Tech Decks”. This is his fourth year on the team.  

 

Caleb McDowell

       Caleb is eighteen years old and is a senior at Johnstown Christian School. He is on the build team, is a driver coach, and is the systems integration lead. Some of Caleb’s activities include soccer, yearbook, drama, choir, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and youth group. He likes pancakes. Caleb has been on the team all four years. He likes to build and fly remote control aircraft. When asked what his favorite Disney movie is, he told us “that’s like asking a parent who their favorite child is”. Caleb plans to enter into the engineering/computer science field.

 

Brady Doyle

       Brady is seventeen years old and a junior at Conemaugh Township. He is a part of the build team and he is a robot driver. Brady is in his school’s marching band, National Honor Society, Speech Team, Rifle Team, and musical crew. He prefers pancakes over waffles, and his favorite Disney movie is The Incredibles. Brady has been on the team for four years. His dream job is to be an applied physicist or electrical engineer.

 

Bert Yan

       Bert is sixteen years old, and he is a junior at Johnstown Christian School.  Bert is an exchange student from China, and this is his second year on the team. He is a part of the programming, drive, and build team. Bert is involved in soccer, video editing, and Spanish Honor Society. A fun fact about Bert is that he has been been to China (surprise!). He also speaks 3 languages: Mandarin, English, and Spanish. He doesn’t like pancakes or waffles. Bert’s favorite Disney movie is Mulan, which is kind of ironic. His dream job is something artificial intelligence related.

Matthew Romesberg Jr.

       Matthew is eighteen years old, and is a senior at North Star High School. He is a part of the build team and is a robot driver. This is his third year on the team. Matt plays soccer for his high school soccer team and a cup team. He also is a member of the National Honors Society and is president of Mu Alpha Theta at his high school. A fun fact is that Matt’s soccer juggling record is 3,331 juggles in a row which took him a little over an hour. Matt prefers pancakes over waffles. His favorite Disney movie is Monsters Inc. His dream job is to work in the field of mechanical/aerospace engineering possibly in the air force with drones.   
 

Daniel Hostetter

       Daniel is fifteen years old, and he is a sophomore at Johnstown Christian School. Daniel is a part of the marketing team. Some of his activities include cross-country, musical, choir, piano, and WJCS News, a student news program at JCS. Daniel has waffles every single morning for breakfast, and his favorite Disney movie is Aladdin. A fun fact about Daniel is that he went on a missions trip to Ecuador last year. This is his first year on the team. His dream job is either to be a sports broadcaster or to get involved in politics.

 

Alexi McDowell

       Lexi is fourteen years old, and a freshman at Johnstown Christian School. She is on the marketing team and helps with the engineering notebook. Lexi plays soccer, takes piano and flute lessons, plays in the school band, sings in the choir, and helps with the yearbook. She likes chocolate-chip pancakes, and her favorite Disney movie is Tangled. This is Lexi’s first year on the team. Her dream jobs include being a book editor, lawyer, or a teacher. A fun fact is that she ate ladybugs as a toddler.

 

Annalina Brant

      Annalina is fourteen years old, and is an 8th grader at Shanksville. She is on the build and programming teams. This is her first year on the team. Annalina plays tennis, softball, basketball and dance. She plays the piano, guitar, and percussion. She is in band, chorus, and on the reading competition team at her school. Annalina can’t pick between waffles and pancakes, she likes them both. A fun fact is that she fell off a couch when she was four years old and broke her leg. Annalina’s favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast.

 

Jessi Altiero

        Jessi is thirteen years old and a freshman at Rockwood. She is on the build and marketing teams. This is her first year on the team. Jessi’s activities involve volleyball, basketball, guitar, bowling, karate, musical, Les Jeunes Amis de Francais (JAF), chorus, Speech team, and Reading Competition. On the questionnaire for this bio, she put down that she prefers “PANCAKES!!!!!”. A fun fact is that she has been in a US Navy Submarine. Jessi’s favorite Disney movies are Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, Toy Story 3, and Mulan. Jessi wants to be an Mechanical engineer.

 

Ian Coyle

      Ian is fourteen years old, and is an eighth grader at Bishop McCort. He is on the build team and marketing team. This is his first year on the team. Ian is a part of cross-country, Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition, musical, marching band, and tennis. He likes waffles. Ian’s favorite Disney movie is Jungle Book. His dream job is to be an astrophysicist.

 

Austin Gibson

       Austin is seventeen years old, and is a junior at Johnstown. He is a part of the build team, programming team, and the marketing team. In his free time he enjoys playing tennis. He is a member of his school’s Scholastic Quiz team, Interact Club, National Honor Society, and the National Spanish Honor Society. Also, he is an elected officer of his school’s Key Club. Additionally, Austin is a member of his school’s public speaking and debate team. He likes pancakes more than waffles and prefers Mac computers over other PC’s. His favorite Disney movie is Monster’s Inc. Austin’s dream job is to be a superintendent for a demographically-underprivileged school district.
