Southwestern PA Regional Qualifying Tournament, Pittsburgh, PA (01/16/16)
The Southwestern PA Qualifier was our second judged event of the FIRST Res-Q season. We won 3 out of 5 matches and ranked 6th out of 24 teams after the qualifying rounds. We moved on to Semi-Finals where we lost after three matches.
The team was honored to bring home the “Motivate Award” trophy, a hard-earned acknowledgement of the efforts extended toward growing the team and conducting outreach in the community.
The award description is: "The Motivate Award celebrates the team that exemplifies the essence of the FIRST Tech Challenge competition through team building, team spirit and exhibited enthusiasm. This team celebrates their team, their individuality and their spirit through team attire, and exhibits their outstanding team spirit. This teams enthusiasm and spirit motivates others to embrace the culture of the competition and FIRST. The team has also made a collective effort to make FIRST known throughout their school and community."
Here is what the judges had to say: "With only a two-year history, this team has the motivation to achieve great things. Their marketing pulled the mask off the competition! This flashy dozen lit up the garage and got the whole neighborhood barking."
