Pittsburgh Area Scrimmage, McMurray, PA (12/13/14)
The Pittsburgh Area Scrimmage was our first official FIRST event. Our main goal in attending was to test our robot, gain an understanding of how matches work, and talk with other teams.
It was a fantastic day and it was very rewarding to see things come together after the team's hours of hard work. Team 8645 competed with 10 teams, won all four of their matches, and ranked 1st at the end of the day with 8 Qualifying Points (2 per winning match). The robot ran as designed with few issues.
The students came away with some ideas for future robot refinements, but the event mostly left the team feeling better prepared for going into the judged Qualifiers in January 2015. They are excited.
